About Us

Carl and I have always been fond of the farm, relishing in activities such as hunting, fishing, shooting clay birds, running dogs, and most importantly, spending quality time our children. From the moment we met, we shared a love of building and retiring in the countryside, and that dream finally came to fruition on Labor Day weekend 2020 when we moved into our farmhouse.

With multiple acres of land at our disposal, we consulted with local farmers who tilled neighboring farm ground, inquiring if they would consider tilling our ground for the crop. However, we soon discovered that the land, which was once an old cattle farm, was not suitable for crops. Undeterred, we turned our attention to another agricultural pursuit - lavender!

We delved into the process of growing lavender in Missouri, taking into account the fact that our summers can be brutally humid and hot, while winters can be rather cold. Seeking guidance, we contacted the University of Missouri - Columbia extension, who provided us with valuable insights on where to begin. We conducted soil testing through the extension, turned over the ground, added lime, and researched the best lavender varieties for our residential zone.

With the assistance of our children, we tilled rows, laid weed barriers, installed drip lines and public water, and planted five varieties of lavender in 11 rows. These varieties include Sensational (Lavandula x intermedia) - French Hybrid, Grosso Bleu (Lavandula intermedia "Gros Bleu) - French Hybrid, Phenomenal Lavender (Lavandula intermedia) - English, Hidcote Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote' ) - English, and Munstead Violet (Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead Violet') - English.

Our adventures in lavender have been nothing short of exciting! We take great pleasure in learning about the different varieties, spending weekly visits in the rows, pruning, and pulling weeds. We also offer a range of skin care products, including hand and body scrubs, lotions, body balms, linen and room sprays, and essential oil rollers, among others.

We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter in our lives and cannot wait to share our lavender adventures with you!

Warm regards,

Carl & Chrissy
